American Eagle Paper Mills is seeking a full-time Electrician

SHIFT: Sunday through Thursday from 10:00pm - 7:00am 

LOCATION: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone PA 16686

POSITION STATUS: Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Be able to follow and understand directions pertaining to Electrical Control Systems.
  • Be able to respond to Call-Outs and assist the Call Out Roster.
  • Posses sound knowledge of Multimeter and other basic measurement devices.
  • Self-motivated to approach any task at hand.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and repair motor control circuits and starters with minimal guidance.
  • Self-motivated to learn through Management and their peers.
  • Assist with basic troubleshooting, repair, and replacement of instruments such as control valves, positions, flowmeters, and transmitters.
  • Must be able to assist with basic installation, repair, and replacement of power and control circuits, motors, starters, switches, lighting, solenoids, transformers, and other Electrical Equipment in all voltage ranges.
  • Be able to assist with running conduit and pulling wire with limited direction from Supervision.
  • Have basic knowledge of our instruments and testing equipment, such as multi-meters, amp clamps, and meggars.
  • Be able to work safely, under some supervision, with live circuits in all low-voltage situations (24 VDC – 480 VAC).
  • Possess General Mill Knowledge.
  • Continue to build a working relationship with other crafts from a Multi-Craft perspective.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping in all work areas, in or out of the Electric Shop.
  • Possess the ability to follow all Mill Safety Policies, Mill Rules, Permit Compliances, and PPE usage.
  • Basic understanding of Equipment and Departmental Locations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Observing all Mill and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the hazards in the workplace and working safely and responsibly.
  • Maintaining a good area of housekeeping in the department and disposing of any waste according to the department's requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Must have prior electrical experience.
  • Must be able to walk distance to the work area and throughout the plant.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Exceptional attendance is required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required.

Work Environment:

 
  • Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill. In some areas, hard hats may be required. Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
  • Fast-paced environment while working under pressure.
  • Smoke-free property.
