American Eagle Paper Mills is seeking a full-time Process Engineer.

OPEN POSITION: Machine Room Process Engineer

SHIFT: Daylight

LOCATION: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone PA 16686

REPORTS TO: Department Manager

POSITION STATUS: Full Time, Salary, Exempt

Job Summary:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing process strategies, managing process resources, optimizing current processes, and maintaining process documents.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for technical support of two paper machines.
  • Work with Machine Room supervisor and operators to identify and correct process, quality, and safety problems.
  • Coordinate daily and shutdown maintenance on the paper machines.
  • Coordinate raw material and product development trials on the paper machines.
  • Identify process, quality, and safety improvements needed on the paper machines.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for the paper machines.
  • Develop and Implement capital projects for process improvement, quality improvements, cost savings, and safety.
  • Observe all Mill and department safety policies and procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
  • Proven work experience as a process engineer.
  • Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures.
  • High-level knowledge of process engineering software systems.
  • Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD.
  • Advanced technical skills.
  • Analytical thinker.
  • Ability to project manage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill. In some areas hard hats may be required. Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
  • Fast-paced environment while working under pressure.
  • Smoke-free property.
