American Eagle Paper Mills is seeking a full-time Maintenance Oiler

SHIFT: Monday through Friday from 7:00am - 3:00pm

LOCATION: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Tyrone PA 16686

POSITION STATUS: Full Time, Hourly, Non-exempt


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Complete the daily work assigned by the Lead Oiler.
  • Have detailed knowledge of the paper machines/winders and sheeters, rewinders, conveyance equipment, cranes, pumps, filters, and all related equipment.
  • Report any unusual situations to the supervisor for immediate corrective action with a complete description of the problem.
  • Ensure the lubrication schedule is followed as described. Work with the department manager to adjust the work schedule as needed.
  • Maintain all lubrication equipment (grease guns, oil pumps, etc.) as needed.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling techniques are followed.
  • Execute oil sampling as required/requested by the department Manager.
  • Maintains appropriate levels of oil/lubrication of all specified mill equipment.
  • Audits specified equipment list to ensure all equipment is properly safeguarded.
  • Adjust priorities as directed by the department manager.
  • Schedule required work stoppages with other departments to allow equipment lubrication.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of lubrication schedules and recommend changes to the manager when a frequency or volume change is deemed needed.
  • Manage the supply of oil and greases and report to the manager when reorder is needed.
  • Respond to call-outs as scheduled. Be able to effectively correct call-out issues with little help.
  • Ensure good housekeeping of equipment as pertained to lubrication. This includes the cleaning of spent grease from bearings and changing of pig mats/catch basins.
  • Follow all mill safety policies, mill-wide rules, and all other procedures.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Observing all Mill and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Understanding the hazards in the workplace and working safely and responsibly.
  • Maintaining a good area of housekeeping in the department and disposing of any waste according to the department's requirements.
  • Maintain quality standards.
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to walk distance to the work area and throughout the plant.
  • Must be able to stand for 8-12 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Exceptional attendance is required.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but not required.

Work Environment:

  • Manufacturing environment which requires the use of appropriate safety equipment including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in all areas of the Mill. In some areas, hard hats may be required. Cut-resistant gloves and face shields may be required while performing some duties.
  • Fast-paced environment while working under pressure.
  • Smoke-free property.
